School and Community Profile

 

 

                 Pili West Central School is located at the Western part of the Poblacion of Pili with approximately five hundred meters away from Central School. The school is situated in the urban-type Capital Town of Camarines Sur.

 

             In 1903, the first elementary school in Pili was opened at the Gabaldon Building which is now part of Pili West Central School. During that time the supervision of the school in the neighboring towns of Pili,Bula and Ocampo (the Matobatto; a barrio of Pili) was integrated with Baao to form one District. Baao District with Mr. Faustino Belza as the supervising teacher, it was then during the term of Major Juan Arejola.

 

               The first public school building was contructed out of light materials located at the present school site now called PILI WEST CENTTRAL SCHOOL in Barangay San Anthonio. One of the earliest public school teachers in Pili was Maestrang Asiang (Mrs. Engracia Tolentino), a resident of San Antonio.

 

               The original site which is more than 6,000 square meters was said to be donated by the late Mr. and Mrs. Refugio Imperial and family in the Municipality of Pili for Educational purposes. The donation was done by “viva voco” and was later on a confirmation was executed by them. An additional lot of 217 sq. meters was purchased by the PTS some time in 1917 from Henale family. This is where the H.E. and the classroom building were constructed and occupied by for instruction.

 

               This school has manifested progress not only in the improved performance level of the pupils but also in the implementation of other Dep. Ed programs received awards in the Division and the Regional level contests.

 

                Presently, Pili West Central School is manned by 38 regular-permanent teachers. The whole staffs are committed members of the teaching profession headed by Mrs. Neria M. Verdejo, Principal II who leads the teachers’ notable performance and accomplishments.
